These photos were taken the following week of our reunion at Lea Marston. We had a great week the weather was pretty good except for one day when we got hit with a storm. We had planned to sail to Ramsgate, however after a late start due to the previous evenings alcohol intake, had missed the tide that sweeps round the North Foreland; the rain fell like stair rods, in fact the rain that fell during that storm of approx 45 minutes was a record amount for nearly all of the normal August amount. At one stage we could not see beyond the bow which caused us to lose direction until we checked our position with the GPS and charts.

The forts were built during WW2 for anti aircraft gun and searchlight installations. We enjoyed some excellent sailing making 9.4 nm at one stage. The wind farm itself is quite interesting when you scale the size of them; apparently you would need 2500 miles to produce a similar output to a relatively small nuclear station; I cannot see that the maintenance is any way practical.
